High voltage detector operates without closed circuit (floating high voltage). To develop good electronic sensor to detect floating high voltage it requires  HV domain expertize in electric field technology (Stray capacitance & induced voltage), Electric field distribution under different geometrical configurations & voltage levels (11kV to 765kV) and environmental conditions in overhead & underground high voltage line systems.

Key strength: Electric field simulation technology

Electric field simulation and analysis will be carried out to compute the electric potential and stray capacitance between  high voltage line to ground.  In the direct contact method, better voltage measurement by detection is possible through computation of  stray capacitance from HV detector sensor  to ground. In the non direct contact (proximity), better voltage measurement by detection is possible by calculating induced voltage  by computing the electrostatic potentials from HV line to detector sensor and the stray capacitance from detector sensor  to the ground. Using HV electrostatic simulation & analysis, we can design & develop robust, accurate and reliable high voltage detector.

The accuracy and sensitivity of the detector shall be ensured the detection from certain known distance, exact line of the three phases HV lines detection is achieved and also better to take decision on the voltage presence due to induced voltage, or voltage due to over loading or line is alive or dead by measuring the approximate voltage magnitude.

Sensitivity of the high voltage detector is a key parameter. The sensing voltage magnitude at which the detector shall be activated based geometrical configuration and voltage levels, that is computed using HV electrostatic field computation technique.The threshold voltage of the detection is to be designed and tested as per the product standards and customer requirements. Direct contact & non direct contact (proximity) voltage sensing needs to be analyzed for different voltage levels at different heights & spans of the high voltage overhead & underground lines and whether it detected from intended line or adjacent lines.

​We are developing the analog & digital electronics based electrical life safety HV products for sensing, processing and monitoring the voltages.

The design, development and testing of the products are based on the product standards IEC 61243-1, IEC 61481, ASTM F1796, OSHA & BIS.

High voltage plastics

A good electrical life safety product needs well designed and developed high voltage plastics. Design, HV simulation & analysis for selection of insulating materials are based on voltage levels, mechanical strength and the environmental conditions. The safety of equipment and operator is crucial while operating at high voltage levels. The design, development and testing of plastics are based on the product standards IEC, ASTM, OSHA & BIS.

Mechanical design

We have good design on mechanical area to meet vibration, temperature, humidity, IP, impact & drop test as per the product standards. We are engaged in design, model, and analysis using CAD tools for robust design of the product.

Product verification & validation tests

We have good laboratory infrastructure containing key equipments such as high voltage sources, Oscilloscope, Function generator, low voltage power supplies, LCR meter, HV probes, Digital Multimeter and mechanical tools.

The major high voltage test, mechanical test and EMI/EMC test will be carried out at testing centers. We have good floor space for engineering design & development and production activities and also computer simulations tools for modeling and analysis in mechanical, high voltage and electrical & electronics.

The product will undergo type & routine test as per the product standards. We will be performing functional test and the environmental test rigorously.  The reliability tests – HAST & HALT and HASS will also be performed.

We will be developing necessary test fixtures and automated test equipment to ensure product quality as per the standards.
